On Sunday, May 7th, we were blessed to celebrate the sacrament of First Holy Communion with 38 of our grade 2 and grade 3 students.  The children received Jesus for the first time in the sacrament of Holy Communion surrounded by their families during a special 2pm Sunday mass. It was such an joy~filled occasion having all of the children, their families and extended families gathered together at one mass.

The church was packed and full of excitement! The boys and girls really put forth amazing thought and effort into their online classes and assignments this past year, and it was so beautiful to see all their hard work come to fruition.

We would also like to thank their parents, who were a great support to the children with our first ever hybrid learning format. We are so grateful for the many generous volunteers who offered their time and talents with our classes, rehearsal, ushering, altar serving, photography, helping with certificates and providing music.  We couldn’t have done it without you!

May all of our First Communion students and families remember that no matter unexpected ups and downs we may face, Jesus is always waiting for us, ready to be received into our hearts and embraced with our lives.  May Jesus continue to fill the hearts and minds of these children with a great love for Him, a desire to grow closer to Him, and a sweet awareness of how deeply they are loved by Him.

God bless,
