Dear Parish Family,
Happy Easter! Christ is risen! It is great to be able to sing Alleluia again. I pray that those affected by Wednesday’s storm have had their power restored. Special thanks to all the musicians and vocalists, lectors, sacristans, ministers of Holy Communion, ushers, greeters, decorators, and audio/visual support. You truly made this Easter Triduum a very meaningful experience. I would also like to thank our Altar Servers for their great service to the parish this past weekend.
Congratulations to Ian, Jamie and Anil who all became Catholics and who received Sacraments at our Easter Vigil Mass. Welcome to our family of faith. May God bless you and your families in a particular way as you begin this new chapter in your lives.
I have been reflecting on this Easter being my final Easter with you as your Pastor. I recall that so many of you were greatly blessed with Fr. Galen Bank, as the Pastor before me, and I know that your new Pastor will be providentially used by God as well. We are in good hands. In the Easter light of the Risen Christ, I entrust this time of transition to God; that it will be smooth and blessed, so that the important mission of our parish may press forward in God's Power toward the vision we have set our sights upon. Please keep me in your prayers as I will be utilizing much of May and June to begin this time of transition, effective on July 1. In the forthcoming weeks, I hope to be granted permission to announce my new assignment, as well as the identity of your new Pastor. Change is never easy, but it provides chances for us to grow, and it affords new opportunities in the adventure of being followers of Jesus. Let us proceed in faith-filled trust.
Regarding trust, Divine Mercy Sunday is coming next weekend. The motto is "Jesus, I trust in You.” Please consider joining me at 3pm on Sunday, April 16, for a time of prayer and song as we call down God's healing Mercy upon our families, parish, and world.
Our parish will be welcoming a new Facilities Manager next week. He will be getting the lay of the land once the office opens on Wednesday. Please pray for and welcome Perry Debellefeuille as he begins this important job. Gerry Orcia has been providing this support to the parish in the interim. Special thanks to Gerry for keeping things going until we could make this new hire.
I hold you all in my heart and prayers as we ponder our Risen Lord, victorious over even death itself. What now can separate us from the love of God? All things are now possible in Christ Jesus. May this truth bring you deep joy and confidence in our wonderful God.
In Christ,
Fr. Tim
