Registration for Mass

(Link is at the bottom of this page.)

Registration is required for all weekend Masses in advance (Sat. 5pm // Sun. 9am / 11am & 7:30pm).

Safety Guidelines

While we have done our due best to ensure that attending our parish is safe, as with attending anywhere during the pandemic, there remains risks that cannot be eliminated. Therefore, all those attending Mass and entering our parish building shall do so at their own risk.  Please recognize the importance of families and individuals to take responsibility for protecting themselves and others.

For the well being of all our Parishioners we require that the following people stay home:

  • People with COVID-19 or who live with someone with COVID 19.

  • People who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.

  • People with any cold or flu or COVID-19 symptoms.

  • Anyone having recently travelled outside of Canada.

We would highly encourage the following people to stay home:

  • Anyone living with someone with upper respiratory or flu-like symptoms.

  • All people, especially the elderly, with comprised medical conditions.

  • Family members who live with elderly people or those who are risk.

If you are waiting for the results from a COVID-19 test:

If someone is concerned enough to get a COVID-19 test, they should also be concerned about the potential to be asymptomatic and pass COVID-19 onto others without knowing it. So if someone is going for a test, they and their family should stay home until the test results come in, and depending on the results potentially longer. The obligation to attend Sunday Mass is still lifted. We have livestream options. So please stay home if you or someone in your household is awaiting test results.

The only exception would be if you fall into the Lowest Risk category (see link below), where you had "NO close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, NO travel outside of Canada, and NO symptoms. You should self-monitor, but you are NOT required to self-isolate while you wait for your test result."

If you are awaiting test results please see the following chart on what the Government is asking of you:

Also please see the Class Order given to all those in Ottawa from Dr. Vera Etches on September 22, 2020.

Masks are required. Exemptions have changed.

As requested by Bishop Marcel Damphousse everyone over the age of 2 is required to always wear a mask that properly covers both mouth and nose while within the public space of St. Maurice Parish. Only the celebrant, readers, and cantors with 2 metres of distancing are exempt. No more medical exemptions. Click here to view the Bishop's full message.

Mask exemptions will be once again permitted starting March 1st, 2022.

Limited Washrooms

Our main washrooms past the kitchen will be cordoned off because we will not be able to keep up with sanitizing them after each use.  The washroom in the Mezzanine will be open as well as the washroom downstairs by the entrance.

Physical Distancing

Physical distancing rules will be in place everywhere in the church and outside in the entrance ways and parking lot.

Donations

Thank you very much for those who are continuing to support our parish financially during this time. In order to limit the contact with paper and money at this time we are still encouraging parishioners to donate online rather than bringing envelopes and money to the weekend masses. Please look for online options via the "Give" drop down tab on our website.

All Masses are returning to full capacity with no registrations.
Starting March 1, 2022 you will no longer need to register to attend any Mass at St. Maurice.
